In India, sales of the Redmi 12 5G have begun. The new Redmi 5g series is a better option for budget-friendly users. The Xiaomi Smart TV X series and the Redmi Watch 3 Active were launched simultaneously as affordable phones. The Redmi 12 series 4g and 5g phones have a flat frame and a “Crystal Glass” design to make them appear more standardised. It brings out a sleek style in the smartphone.
The 4GB+128GB version of the Redmi 12 5G is effectively priced at Rs 10,999. The cost-effective price of the 6GB+128GB option is Rs 12,499, while the 8GB+256GB version has been available for Rs 14,499. Starting on August 4th, mi.com, Amazon India, and retail locations throughout India offered the Redmi 12 5G for purchase.

These are the features of the new Redmi 12 5g:
- In terms of Display: The Redmi 12 5G has a 6.79-inch FHD+ display with a smaller screen-to-body ratio of 91 percent and a brightness of 550 nits. It also has a 20.5:9 aspect ratio screen display.
- In terms of processor: The Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC and Adreno GPU are the processors used in the 5G version.
- In terms of RAM and Storage space: The phone is available in three different configurations, which are 4GB+128GB, 6GB+128GB, and 8GB+256GB storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB with a microSD card. Virtual RAM can be up to 8GB in total.
- Regarding smartphone OS: The Redmi 12 5G runs MIUI 14 out of the box. It is a system based on Android 13.
- Regarding Rear cameras: The Redmi phone has dual 50MP cameras on the back. There is an 8MP camera on the front for selfies and video chats.
- Regarding Battery power: The 5,000mAh battery on the phone supports 18W fast charging. It is a standard power for smartphones present in the market.

There is availability of fingerprint on the smartphone. A side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security and splash protection is also given an IP53 grade. Moonlight Silver is a color that, when lit up, emits prism-like colors and has a shimmering finish on the glass back. Additionally, the phone is available in Pastel Blue and Classic Black. The Redmi 12 5G sports a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass on the back to provide extra defense against drops and dings. A few bloatware applications are already preinstalled. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner, AI-powered facial recognition, an IR emitter, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity round out the features. Although the phone has a strong CPU, MIUI operates in a lighter mode with fewer animations and no blur effects.
