The Teen Darwaza, also known as Tran Darwaza, is an architectural spectacle situated in Ahmedabad. It’s a gate that makes you stop and admire its architecture and historical significance.

This 1415 AD construction can still be appreciated today, thanks to the magnificent architecture of that time that has kept the medieval ambience alive at different places in the country. Teen Darwaza was built by Sultan Ahmed Shah, the founder of the city of Ahmedabad.

The three arched gates located in the Bhadra Fort complex are the longest as well as the oldest gateways to the city. The pillars and walls at Teen Darwaza are spectacularly engraved with elaborate elements of Islamic architecture having no part un-adorned.

This age-old stone masonry was used by the royal members of the Mughal Empire to watch processions and religious ceremonies. But now it has become a part of the vibrant local life. The structure stands in the middle of a busy road from Bhadra to Patharkuva lined with numerous stalls.

The area has become a shopping zone providing a variety of articles like embroidered cloths, footwear, Meenakari furniture, wall hangings and other decorative items. But remember not to let it get heavy on your pocket as fierce bargaining is possible here.
