The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued the Air Operating Certificate (AOC) to a new airline in India in July 2022. This airline is backed by Rakesh Jhunjhunawala and is said to be India’s latest low-cost airline.
Akasa Airlines or Akasa Air is the newest Indin airline. It has branded itself as “Your dependable and affordable airline“. They have come into the aviation business to provide an air travel experience to everyone by offering affordable flights. They would serve every Indian resident irrespective of their socio-economic conditions.
The founding members of this airline are a team of highly experienced professionals like Vinay Dube and Aditya Ghosh. They have started Akasa Air to transform India’s air ecosystem.
Although the airline is yet to start its operations, it has been in the news for other reasons. Akasa Air has been in the headlines lately for its comfortable and sustainable crew uniform. Instead of formal wear, they have opted for custom trousers, jackets, and sneakers.
While the uniform is made of recycled polyester fabric, the sneakers are lightweight with extra cushioning. This will provide the airline crew with a comfortable working experience during their long working hours.
