Uber’s Lost And Found Index 2023 Names Delhi As The ‘Most Forgetful City’

According to the index release, the most frequently forgotten items are cell phones.

The 2023 Uber Lost and Found Index is out, and the list of items that users have forgotten has grown a little more peculiar. The annual Uber Lost and Found Index has developed a following over time. Although it might seem that people forget things more frequently over time, the truth is that this annual list is only meant to add a little humour to the situation.

Mumbai’s two-year reign at the top of the Lost and Found Index rankings has ended, with Delhi topping the list in 2023. According to the index release, the most frequently forgotten items are cell phones. It also claimed people had left their TV, commode, broom, and large equipment in these cabs. Bengaluru and Hyderabad are the next two cities, with the financial capital, Mumbai, now in second place.

Then came accessories like jewellery, eyeglasses, and practical items like water bottles and keys. According to reports, one person left a walking stick behind, while the other left a television. There are much more. Bengaluru took fourth place overall, followed by Hyderabad in third. Bengaluru came in first place for the year 2019.

“We’ve all experienced that moment of panic when we realize we’ve lost a valuable or even sentimental item from our personal belongings. This annual survey is a fun and useful way to remind our riders how simple it is to submit a retrieval request for a lost item in-app, and with the busy summer travel season on the horizon, we thought it was a good time for a quick refresher,” said Nitish Bhushan, Director, Central Operations, Uber, as per reports.

The most frequently forgotten items in Uber cabs are mobile phones, and the top three phone brands that are forgotten in these cabs are Samsung, Apple, and OnePlus. According to the report, there were three times as many forgotten Android phones as iPhones in Uber cabs.  In Uber cabs, passengers frequently forget red-coloured items. Blue, yellow, rose, and pink follow it in order.

According to Uber, the index provides a snapshot of the things people forget the most often, the cities where people forget the most things, and the days of the week and seasons when people use Uber the most frequently.The most forgetful day of the week is on the weekend, with Saturday topping the list and Sunday, Friday, and Sunday coming in second and third.

The 2023 Uber Lost & Found Index gives a quick overview of the most frequent forgotten and unusual lost items.
