Pushkar is a city in the Ajmer district of the state of Rajasthan and is one of the five sacred Dhams (pilgrimage sites for devout Hindus) and is often referred to as Tirth Raj- the King of Pilgrimage Sites. In the recent years, Pushkar has become famous with foreign tourists owing to the popular Pushkar Cattle fair that is held here every year in the month of November. This year the Pushkar fair is going to begin on November 2nd and continue till November 10th. Even thought this is one of the busiest times in the year for the villagers as the Pushkar cattle fair is one of the largest cattle fairs in India, these are also days of relaxation and fun.

Pushkar is a town located in the Ajmer district of Rajasthan and is located 14 kms north west from Ajmer; located on the banks of the Pushkar Lake, this is one of India�s oldest cities. Famous for the sacred Pushkar Lake, Pushkar is also home to many beautiful and interesting Hindu temples.

How to Reach Pushkar:
Here are a few ways to reach Pushkar
Rail: The nearest railway station to Pushkar is located at Ajmer, 11kms from Pushkar. Ajmer is well connected to cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Udiapur, Jodhpur and Agra by regular train services like the Shatabdi Express and other trains.
Road: Pushkar has two bus stands, the Marwar bus stand that has long distance bus services to cities like Delhi, Jodhpur and Bikaner. The Ajmer bus stand located east of the Pushkar town has services to Ajmer and Jaipur. There are regular bus services from Pushkar to Ajmer.
Air: Jaipur is the nearest airport to Pushkar and is located at a distance of 138 kms. Jaipur is connected by regular flights to all major cities across the country and from Jaipur once can take a bus or train onward to Pushkar.
