Savitri Temple


Savitri Temple, located at Pushkar, enshrines the deity Savitri. Goddess Savitri is wife of Lord Brahma. The temple of Goddess Savitri in Pushkar is built on the top of a hill. A flight of stairs brings one to the door-steps of the temple. From this point, the tourists get to see the beautiful scenery of the surrounding lake and the landscape. The sand dunes that are found around the temple also attract the attention of the tourists.

Pushkar is known to be the land of temples and has numerous temples scattered across the length and breadth of the city. One of the major attractions of the city is the Pushkar Lake which is a center of pilgrimage for the Hindus.

Each year countless pilgrims flock to the small town of Pushkar to take a dip in the lake. It is their faith and belief that the waters of the Pushkar Lake cleanses away sins and redeems their lives. Apart from offering their prayers in all the local temples, they visit the Savitri Temple as well. The temple is very sacred to the devotees and this is evident from the perennial flow of pilgrims.

The Savitri Temple is related to the Brahma Temple and people usually visit both these temples simultaneously. The marble architecture of the Savitri Temple and the Brahma Temple makes both a popular draw amongst tourists.
