Faadu: A love story is a Hindi Web Series directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, well-known in Bollywood. She has also worked on notable films such as Nil Battey Sannata, Bareilly Ki Barfi and Panga.
Faadu is a common desi word used to describe something worthwhile and intriguing. We can presume that, according to its name, Ashwiny Iyer’s web series would feature a desi social comedy-drama with a powerful message. The teaser was released on November 14, followed by the trailer, released on November 23, and the web series will stream on Sony Liv on December 9.
The star cast consists of Pavail Gulati, Saiyami Adwait Kher, Abhilash Thapliyal, Hiren Rathod, Kunj Anand, Manini Chadha, Shishir Sharma, Rakesh Chaturvedi. Saiyami Kher, a Bollywood actress, has been cast as the series’ main female character. She made her acting debut in the Telugu film Rey (2015) and gained popularity when she was cast opposite Harshvardhan Kapoor, the son of veteran actor Anil Kapoor, in his Hindi debut movie Mirzya (2016).
Pavail Gulati, the male lead, is a skilled actor working in the business for a while. Through the Bollywood film Hide & Seek (2010), Pavail made his existence in the movies but got the fame when he worked with Big B in a television series named Yudh (2014)
Although he has been in a few more films as the husband in Taapsee Pannu’s Thappad, such as Queen of Heart, Ittefaq, “The Other Way”, Made in Heaven, and Thappad, he has yet to have a popular television program or movie to showcase his skills. He was last seen in Amitabh, Rashmika starrer ‘Goodbye’.
The main character of the web series is Abhay (Pavail Gulati), who struggles with choosing between his love for a lady and his desire to become wealthy and successful. In his pursuit of the rags-to-riches tale, he meets Manjiri (Saiyami Kher), who has a very different outlook on life and falls in love with her.
The show’s teaser shows how ‘Abhay’ Pavail Gulati is driven to amass wealth in a place like Mumbai. Meanwhile, ‘Manjiri’ Saiyami Kher always sticks by his side. Theirs is a love story that has been “cursed by desire,” as the teaser puts it. The song “Mere liye tu na bana” indicates that this love story will not end happily.
The web series is based on the theme that no matter what, do or die and do whatever you do with passion. Unfortunately, it involves death in Abhay and Manjiri’s case. After his unsuccessful attempts to become wealthy and successful in life, he is now on the ECG. On the other hand, she clings to the belief that one day he will awaken and accept his reality.
