As only a few months are left until the new iPhone gets officially unveiled, its fans are already curious about what it has to offer. Team Apple has never disappointed its fan base, and the new rumoured updates around the device confirm this.

What changes should one expect in the upcoming iPhone?

Eliminating the new mini model

  • One of the first rumoured updates is regarding the size of the upcoming new device. Apple is eliminating the 5.4 iPhone mini from its lineup as the size is not popular, and the sales number was poor.
  • The company focuses on its premium segment: the iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Max, and iPhone 14 pro-Max.

New sizes for the upcoming models

  • The expected size for the upcoming models is 6.1 inches for iPhone 14 pro, a 6.7 inch iPhone 14 Max, and 6.7 inches for iPhone 14 Pro Max.
  • However, this time Apple has decided to get done with the Notch that holds the Face ID hardware, and instead of a Notch, the company is going with a hole-punch style seen in most Android Phones.

A new display screen is in the making

  • Display Analyst Ross Young expects a hole-punch design camera cutout for the iPhone 14 Pro Models in the shape of a pill.
  • Ross expects that there will be a pill-shaped cut out which is already present in the current iPhone and a circular cutout.
  • This time, the company is making significant changes to its under-display Face ID and planning to change the current tech and use a laser-based technology for the Face ID to leave more screen space for the device.
  • Apple is expected to bring a new ProMotion display with the new iPhone. In a standard display screen, the refresh rate will update a display 60 times in a second, but the new 120 Hz screen will work at twice the speed of the standard display screen.

However, the company is said to be focusing on its premium segment, like Pro models, and only these customers will have the ProMotion display.

 Body Design

  • There is no significant design change expected in the upcoming model, and it will carry the iPhone 13 design with the same camera style.
  • An investors report from JP Morgan chase suggests the new iPhone will come with a high-end titanium alloy design.
  • The company already uses titanium for its watch segment, becoming more resilient when it comes to scratches and stronger than steel and aluminium.

Camera

  • Apple is not known to make any changes to its Cameras. The current iPhone 13 has 12 Megapixel(MP) camera. The last time iPhone made a difference in the camera was in the iPhone X model, in which it made a significant change from 8 MP to 12 MP.
  • However, the company is expected to do something unexpected and feature a 48 MP camera this time.
