Namdroling Monastery: A must visit
This beautiful monastery, also famous as the Golden Temple, has been designed in the Tibetan architectural style. The embellished grand pandal inside the monastery houses gold-plated idols of Lord Buddha (60 feet tall), Lord Padmasambhava (58 feet tall) and Lord Amitayus (58 feet tall).

As per custom, the prayer wheels on the outer perimeter of the monastery are turned by the visitors, which is believed to earn them good karma. Rotating the wheels in a clockwise direction is considered equivalent to reciting a prayer.

The monastery leaves you awestruck with its handcrafted decorations. The walls are gilded, with the paintings portraying incarnations of Lord Buddha and the other divinities of Buddhism.

Bylakuppe was visited by the Dalai Lama to celebrate his 78th birthday amidst the majestic charm of the town.

The town, with multi-colored flags and the grandiose monastery, spreads its mystique and calm over its visitors. One should sit inside the temple and meditate over religious discourse for spiritual guidance at Bylakuppe.
