Amrita Hospital: Asia’s largest super-speciality hospital

 The hospital is built in the state's southern district, Faridabad. The estimated cost of establishing the hospital is Rs. 6000 crores. The main objective of establishing the hospital is to boost the availability of modern medical infrastructure in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India’s largest hospital in Faridabad on August 24, 2022. The hospital is named “Amrita”. According to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the hospital will benefit the people of Faridabad and Haryana and the people of Delhi NCR.

As per the information given by the Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar, there will be more health facilities in the state. He compared the health facilities in 2014; there were only seven medical colleges in the state, reaching 13.

 In recent times, nine more medical colleges have been included in the list of those that will open soon. Along with these benefits, the Ayushman Bharat Yojana will also be implemented in the hospital to reach more than 21 lakh people of Haryana.

 About the Amrita Hospital :

 The hospital is built in the state’s southern district, Faridabad. The estimated cost of establishing the hospital is Rs. 6000 crores. The main objective of establishing the hospital is to boost the availability of modern medical infrastructure in the National Capital Region (NCR).

 The hospital was established by Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), an institute under the Department of Atomic Energy, the Government of India.

 Know about the Amrita hospital’s facilities

 Built by Amrita Anandamayi, the hospital is known as “Amma”. The hospital is equipped with better facilities. It consists of 2600 beds, which includes 534 ICU beds. The hospital has 81 specialised departments, the highest in India.

 The Amrita Hospital consists of 64 operating theatres. A fully residential MBBS programme will also be available soon for the students with 150 seats. There will also be a nursing and allied health sciences college. It is stated that this is the largest fully automatic smart lab in the whole country, which can process blood and other essential samples.

 The hospital will have 10 bunkers for Precision Medicine Oncology (PMO). It would be solar-powered. The total area of the hospital is more than 75 lakh sq. ft., which includes 36 lakh sq. ft of hospital buildings.
