Congress victory in Rajasthan Bypolls

Bye-elections were held in Rajasthan for 3 seats. The election was held in Ajmer and Alwar for 2 seats of Lok Sabha Constituency and 1 for the Mandalgarh Assembly Seat. The result was declared on February 1, which turned out to be a huge blow for the ruling BJP Government.

In Alwar, Karan Singh Yadav of Congress won the Lok Sabha Seat after defeating Jaswant Singh Yadav of BJP by a huge margin of 196,496 votes.

In Ajmer, Ramswaroop Lamba had lost the seat to Raghu Sharma of Congress by 84,414 votes.

The Mandalgarh Assembly Seat was won by Vivek Dhakar of Congress who defeated Shakti Singh Hada of the BJP by 12,976 votes.

It seems warning bells are ringing for the Vasundhara Raje Government which is going to face Assembly Elections within 10 months. This impressive victory by the Congress Party has overwhelmed the members. Chief of the Congress Rahul Gandhi has conveyed his heartiest congratulations to the members of the Congress in Rajasthan.

Is this the emerging trend in the upcoming Elections?

Everyone has been taken by surprise by the result of Bye-Elections. The victory of Congress could emerge as a trouble for the BJP Government.
Some reasons which are considered to be the cause of this defeat are as follows-

Farmer Agitation– Last year in September, BJP announced farm loan waiver up to Rs 50,000 but has not acted upon it which has agitated the farmers.

Gujjar Reservation Bill– Both the bills brought by the Gujjar community for reservation were provided a stay order by the High Court which made them extremely unhappy with the ruling government.

GST and Demonetisation– Businessman and traders have complained that GST and Demonetisation have hit their business extremely hard.

Padmaavat Controversy– The controversy has enraged the Rajput community which has formed an opinion that BJP has not done enough to stall the release of the movie.

The results clearly indicate that these issues have created a dent in the BJP’s Vote Bank.
