Know what is required to port the Vodafone number to Jio:

The number you are going to the port should be 90 days old, and you should have some documents and certificates like a Voter ID card, driving license, Aadhaar card. If you want to port the postpaid number, you will first have to pay the arrears.

Here are the easy steps to port the Vodafone number to Jio:

  • First of all, get Unique Porting Code (UPC) by sending SMS to 1900 by typing “PORT” space ten digits “mobile number,” i.e. PORT (YOUR MOBILE NUMBER) and click send.
  • After that UPC is received on your mobile, UPC will be valid for 15 days from the date of request allotted to a subscriber, so you will have to use it before the last date.
  • After that, visit any Jio Customer Service Center / Retailer nearest to you to request for porting of your mobile number. 
  • Go there and ask the Jio customer officer to port your number.
  • After that customer officer will ask you about the required documents and UPC, provide them UPC and required documents.
  • Fill up a CAF (Customer Application Form) and pay the porting fee. 
  • After that, you will be given a new Jio SIM card. Upon approval of the potting request, JIO will notify you of the date and time of potting. You have to change your Sim Card at the said time. 
  • The time of the porting process is 4 to 7 days, but in most cases, this process is completed in 2 to 3 days. Sometimes it may take seven days. 
  • The network will disappear from your old SIM card when your number is ported. At that time, you can check by entering the ported number.

Know how to port your sim card from Vodafone to Airtel:

The procedure of porting is the same as the previous one. You will have to carry essential photocopies of valid documents like your Aadhar Card, Voter ID Card etc.

Here are the steps to port from Vodafone to Airtel:

  • Type PORT from your Vodafone number, leave space, type your mobile number, and send it to 1900. 
  •  Suppose your mobile number is 123456789, then you have to type PORT 123456789 in the message and then send it to 1900. 
  • After that, you will get a message with UPC (Unique Porting Code), and its expiration date will also be mentioned in it. That code will be valid till that status approval only. 
  • After receiving the UPC, you will have to visit any nearest Airtel Store, and you can also contact any retailer who sells Airtel sim cards. Don’t forget to carry the sim card and documents with you. 
  • After that, talk to the customer service executive for number portability. The assistant will ask you for the UPC, show them the UPC, submit the required documents, and provide an alternate contact number to register your MNP (Mobile Number Portability) request. You can tell the current number of any family member to them. 
  • Then after (know your customer) KYC verification, you will be provided with a new Airtel SIM card, and it will be activated in a maximum of 1-3 hours.
