About Movie Junooniyat

Junooniyat is an intense romantic flick that features Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam in the lead roles. The rumoured off-screen romance between Pulkit and Yami has fuelled the movie’s impact on the audience. While the trailer of this romantic movie is quite appealing to the younger generation, you’ll have to watch the flick to know whether Pulkit Samrat, portraying the role of a military officer, is able to marry his lady love (portrayed by Yami Gautam) or will they separate in the end?

Plot

Well, the story of Junooniyat revolves around two main characters viz: the army officer Jahaan Bakshi (played by Pulki Samrat) and a bubbly Punjabi girl Suhaani Kapoor (played by Yami Gautam). The duo meets during an incident, where Jahaan rescues Suhaani and falls in love with her. It is this meeting that leads to a strong friendship, followed by a passionate love affair. While the lovey-dovey flick comprises the fights and drama, the duo’s love story goes bitter and results into heartbreaks, tears and sad song sequences. Finally, whether they unite or not and how it all happens forms the crux of Junooniyat.

Performances

Coming to the performances of the lead pair, their ‘much-hyped’ chemistry is the strongest USP of this romantic saga. Pulkit, popular for his over-acting, hasn’t shown much of an improvement in his acting skill. Though, he has tried hard to get into the character, he had failed miserably. Next is Yami Gautam, who has revealed her glamorous side in Junooniyat, can be seen delivering an average performance. There are some intense scenes between Yami and Pulkit, which will be definitely liked by their fans. Both, Pulkit and Yami have looked drop-dead glamorous in this flick and done complete justice to their respective roles.

Junooniyat Movie Music

Junooniyat’s title track has been beautifully sung by Pakistani singer Falak Shabir. It has a Sufi feel to it and will become an instant hit among people who love soft Sufi songs. Next there is “Nachage Saari Raat”, which originally belonged to Stereo Nation but has been recreated by Meet Bros Anjjan. This is a fast paced song that will definitely turn to be best choice for parties. Then, there is “Pagalon Sa Naach”, which has been composed by Meet Bros and has a feel of Holi with visible references to rang and bhang. Further, within the music album is “Tu Junooniyat”, which has been superbly sung by Shrey Singhal and Akriti Kakkar and has simply awesome kyrics which convey the intensity of love and passion. The track “Mujhko barsaat bana lo” has the excellent vocals by Armaan Malik and conveys lover’s passion for his beloved. Finally, there is “Ishqe di latt” which reminds us of the 90s melody immensely popularized by the likes of Anand-Milind and Nadeem-Shravan. Composer-singer Ankit Tiwari has sung this fantastic song along with Tulsi Kumar. All the songs in the movie have come out well on the screen.

What’s Good?

Breathtaking locales, light-hearted romantic scenes and ear-wormy music are the major upsides of Junooniyat. Also, the romantic dialogues have been able to keep the movie going.

What’s Bad?

Below average direction is the major downside of Junooniyat. The addition of too many tragedy sequences and drama has made the flick shabby and too boring.
