Looking at the kind of films Akshay Kumar has been doing recently, it seems as is if he has set out on a mission to give vigilante justice. Having displayed valour to counter terrorism in Baby and Holiday, he is now set to fight the battle against the epidemic of corruption! And thus, we have his latest flick Gabbar is Back! Just like his earlier release Special 26, the film is yet another spectacle of a common man’s lash against the corrupt dignitaries of our society.

Plot: Gabbar is Back narrates the story of a man who tries to bring back the social order by punishing the fraudulent through death when the formal arrangement fails to work in an efficient way!

Performances: It’s a simple case of been there, done that with Akshay Kumar this time! Having played similar heroic characters quite a number of times, he seems to have mastered it proficiently! This Khiladi is full of action and clout and this seems to work brilliantly for his films. No one except him could have possibly carried out this role with such elan!

Sunil Grover, popularly known as “Guthhi”, comes across as a surprising element in the film! Breaking away from his image of a comedian, he pulls off the role of an honest police constable with full might.

Shruti Haasan is as amateur as a newcomer in Bollywood! Even in a short cameo, she fails to do any good to the film!

Music: The music album of Gabbar is Back is an interesting compilation of some well composed songs. Three different composers have worked together to deliver music that’s worthy of the film. The best one from the lot is Teri Meri Kahaani!

What’s Good: The concept of reinventing the character of Gabbar works in favour of the film. It’s a complete entertainer with enough humour and action. Akshay Kumar delivers yet another stellar performance and impresses the audience with his charismatic persona. The punchlines in the film definitely deserve to be praised! The songs are quite addictive!

What’s Bad: The plot of the film is like an old wine served in a new bottle! Being a remake of a Tamil film, it is full of pinheaded moments that might leave you dumbfounded! Akshay Kumar’s Gabbar is Back rubs off well with the audience!

Akshay Kumar’s Gabbar is Back is a typical massy entertainer that rubs off well with the audience! Khiladi Kumar is a complete star package when it comes to the hero-centric films. He is one of the most worthy actors of Bollywood who deserve to be celebrated! Gabbar is Back might not be anything new but it is definitely worth investing your time and money in! In the words of the man himself- Gabbar is Back!

Verdict: It’s a mighty treat for the Khiladi fans this weekend!
