Porsche Macan 2021 Launched in India: All you need to know

Porsche debuted the 2021 Macan luxury SUV in India on November 12, 2021, with pricing beginning at Rs 83.21 lakh. The vehicle was introduced in the country with the all-new Porsche Taycan electric sports car, and it has a base price of Rs 1.50 crore. This is the premium SUV’s second mid-life revamp, having previously gotten an upgrade in 2019. The revised Porsche Macan made its global appearance earlier this year, in July 2021, with modest stylistic modifications, power upgrades, and a redesigned interior.

According to a report by Republic World, Porsche India Brand Head Manolito Vujicic stated, “Despite continuously challenging pandemic-related developments, our business performed exceptionally well in this market, chalking up its best Q3 results and making Porsche one of the fastest-growing luxury car brands in the country through 2021. Introducing such a revolutionary model as the Taycan and the latest iteration of our popular Macan, to coincide with our dealer expansion is proof positive of the roadmap we are creating for future business growth in India as we invest in new product and facilities throughout 2022. The order books are now open for both Taycan and Macan with first deliveries due early next year.”

The all-new Porsche Macan is available in three models: Macan, Macan S, and Macan GTS. Furthermore, Porsche will offer a wide selection of 14 new colours for the Macan. In addition, the SUV’s appearance has improved significantly. It has a unique nose with an outside colour inlay, making it appear more intimidating on the roads.

The middle of the nose part, and several other components, are designed in black on the 2021 GTS. A striking diffuser now rounds out the back towards the road. In addition, all models now come equipped with LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) and Sport Design external mirrors. Bigger wheels are also included, with at least 19-inch alloys for the Macan, 20-inch alloys for the Macan S, and 21-inch alloys for the Macan GTS.

The Porsche Macan’s interiors are also extensively modified, with new interior decor choices and a redesigned centre console. Porsche has used touchscreen surfaces rather than tactile buttons and a smaller selector lever in the middle of the well-organized control module. The iconic analogue clock at the centre of the dashboard is now an essential feature as well.

The Porsche Communication Management 10.9-inch full HD touchscreen display in the Macan includes Apple CarPlay, navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, voice control, and the Porsche Connect application. The Macan is outfitted with the 911 and Panamera’s new multi-function and GT sports steering wheels. In addition, the inside is furnished in black as default, with leather packages in various colors available as extras.

The base-level Macan comes with a 2.0-litre inline-four turbo engine that produces 261 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. The Macan S and Macan GTS have a larger 2.9-litre V6 engine that produces 375 horsepower and 520 Nm of torque in the Macan S and 434 horsepower and 550 Nm in the GTS. All three models are equipped with Porsche’s 7-speed PDK DCT transmission.
