I first heard about this mall when I was in New Delhi from a friend of mine who is from Kerala. This mall was so much in news when it opened last year in March as it changed the whole concept of shopping in Kerala. So I thought of paying this mall a visit and check for myself what is it like. This mall’s hugh building can not go unnoticed when you are travelling from Alappuzha on NH 47 and taking Edapally-Panvel highway from a hugh congested and crowded junction as it has become from the time this mall has opened.
This mall was a great refuse for me from the burning sun outside and 34 degrees celsius of temperature. Having a huge basement parking, you will not be charged for first two hours. When I went inside, I was overwhelmed seeing the atrium of this mall with a hugh trabslucent glass as its roof. It is a good hangout place with friends as it has got bowling alley, skating rink, PVR cinemas , 5D cinema and many more entertainment zones you can get involved into. I was more interested in the technology arena known here as Lulu Connect where you can find anything related to electronics & gadgets. The total area of this mall is 1,60,000 square meters having 5 floors and it houses major brands like Marks & Spencers, Being Human, Nike, etc and many jewellary shops which this whole area is known for. It also houses Kerala’s first McDonalds.
I then went into an outdoor gear showroom seeing decathlon products from outside and talked to the manager there. As he came to know about my journey seeing the t-shirt I was wearing, he gave me important tips on ho should I take care of my cycle. He was so facinated after listening about my expedition that he wanted to have a picture with me.
After coming out of Lulu mall, I went to get my cycle checked for its gears & brakes and got it lubricated. I cycled 35.5 kms today roaming around the city and now, my cycle is all ready for tomorrow’s trip to Chavakkad.
