Dal Lake:-

Mesmerized by the beauty of Dal Lake, Emperor Babur could not resist himself and said: “agar firdaus ba ruay zami ast, ami asto, ami asto, ami asto” (if there is heaven on earth, it is this, it is this, it is this). The beauty of Kashmir is magnificent. Dal Lake is Srinagar’s jewel. Its serenity is unsurpassed. The second largest lake in Kashmir, Dal Lake is surrounded by the beautiful Mughal Garden. Splendid Dal Lake is spread across 15km. Dal Lake is a lake of a maze of intricate waterways and channels. Floating garden, colorful shikaras and houseboats are delights of the Dal Lake. The vibrant balconies of house-boats along with the misty peaks of the Pir-Panjal mountain ranges get reflected in Dal Lake’s water. Flotillas of vibrant shikaras (gondola like taxi boats) skiff around the Dal Lake. Inspired by the Dal Lake life, Musa Syeed directed Valley of Sands, a prize-winning 2012 movie.

Chandratal Lake:-

Located at an altitude of approx. 4270meters in Spiti valley of the Lahul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh, Chandratal Lake is a popular destination for trekkers and campers. Its name originates from its crescent shape. Chandratal lake lies between a low ridge and main Kunzum pass. Chandratal lake is situated on the Samudra Tapu plateau which overlooks Chandra river. A luring place, Chandratal lake is mostly surrounded by snow. This deep blue-water lake has a circumference of 2.5km. From late May to October, the lake is accessible on foot from Batal as well as from Kunzum Pass. Chandratal lake offers a magnificent view at night.

Loktak Lake:-

A serene retreat from the hustle-bustle of city life, Loktak Lake presents a splendid world of its own. It is the largest freshwater lake in the northern India. Loktak lake provides support to the human communities all around. Loktak Lake is located near Moirang, in the state of Manipur, India. It is quite interesting to note that the only floating national park of the World- Keibul Lamjao National Park floats over it. Loktak lake is a source of livelihood for the rural fishermen who live around. Loktak lake is famous for Phumdis, which is a heterogeneous mass of vegetation, soil, organic matter at various stages of decomposition. The largest of all the Phumdis is situated on the southeastern shore of the Loktak Lake and covers an area of 40 square km.

Damdama Lake:-

Good for adventure activities, Damdama Lake forms a depression in the Aravali Range. It is one of the biggest lakes in Haryana, covering an area of 3,000 acres. Situated near Delhi, Damdama lake is a perfect place for fun-trip. Kayaking, parasailing, angling, cycling, fishing, hot-air ballooning, rowing and nature walks are some of the delights of the Damdama Lake. Presently, Damdama Lake possesses a Dream Island Adventure Resort in its middle. One can visit the lake in monsoon and winter season also.

Gurudongmar Lake:-

Considered to be one of the most excellent natural lakes of the world, Gurudongmar Lake is found on the northeastern side of Kanchenjunga extend in Sikkim. An awe-inspiring lake, Gurudongmar Lake remains milky throughout the year. It is one of the highest lakes in the world, situated at an elevation of around 17,800 feet over the ocean level in the Indian state of Sikkim. This lake has mythological stories along with religious values.
