It is not really a mystery that advertisements promote sexism, stereotypes and the new trend of reverse sexism in order to push their agendas. From reducing women to mere sex objects in a deodorant commercial to defining beauty by portraying only ‘fair is lovely’ to putting a mother inside the kitchen to make noodles, time and again Indian commercials have defined gender roles in a conventional manner in a few seconds.
However, there are some exceptions that have stood the test of time by breaking the stereotype and inducing a change of perception through the mass media.
