As September approaches, Apple lovers from across the globe wait with bated breath anticipating what surprises the giant tech firm will throw their way. So, on September 12, at a mega event held at its headquarters in California, Apple released three new iPhone models, along with an updated version of its Apple watch. Though rumor mills had it that an updated version of the 10.5 and 12.9 inch iPad Pro, MacBook Pros and an affordable MacBook Air, but no mention of these was made at the September event. However, Apple organizes an event in October to display its upgrades and launches in the laptop and iPad segments. So, we might see these products at an event later in the year. Let us take a look at what Apple unveiled at its 12 September event.

iPhone XS

The iPhone XS is a marvelous piece of engineering, is loaded with amazing features, majestic in appearance and, of course, is very expensive. Commanding a premium price tag of around 99,900 rupees for the base model and going up to Rs 1,34,900, the phone comes in three colors – gold finish, space grey, and silver. The phone is available in three variants – 64GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB.

It supports a 5.8 inch OLED display. Comprising an elegant design, the phone supports a 1125 x 2436 pixels screen resolution. Comprising a dual SIM facility, the battery has the capacity to last 30 minutes more than the iPhone X. The phone is good for taking pictures as it supports dual 12-megapixel rear cameras and a single 7 megapixel front camera. The iPhone XS also comes with a 3D touch.

iPhone XS-Max

The iPhone XS Max is not just the biggest among the three newly launched phones, but is also the biggest Apple phone till date. With a screen size of 6.5 inches, the phone comes with a glass body and a stainless steel frame. Powered by a six-core processor A12 Bionic chipset, the phone has dual 12MP+12MP cameras and has 2436×1125-pixel resolution. The phone supports a long battery life, which is around 1.5 hours more than the iPhone X. iPhone XS Max has a starting price of Rs 1,09,900 Rs for the 64GB and goes up to Rs 1,44,900 for the 512 GB.

iPhone XR

This is the cheapest among the lot, but would still leave a huge hole in your pocket. Starting at Rs 76,900 for the 64GB, the price of the phone goes up to Rs 91,900 for the 256 GB. The XR has a screen size of 6.1 inch and a 1792×828-pixel resolution. Unlike the XS and the XS Max, the XR does not have 3D touch functionality.

The XS and XS Max are expected to go on sale in India on September 28, 2018.
