Rajasthan: CM Ashok Gehlot Announces 19 More Districts, 3 New Divisions In Election Year

Additionally, a budget provision of Rs 2,000 crore has also been provided to fulfil the demands of these new districts.

Ashok Gehlot, the incumbent chief minister of the state of Rajasthan, declared the formation of 19 new districts and three new divisions. Banswara, Sikar, and Pali were named as new divisions to supposedly simplify administrative procedures.

Newly formed districts of Rajasthan

Rajasthan is now going to have 50 districts altogether. 31 districts existed before this announcement. In addition to that, Rajasthan will also have ten divisions. According to the information, the newly announced 19 districts are. Namely, Gangapur City (Sawaimadhopur), Neem Ka Thana (Sikar), Jaipur South, Jodhpur West, Balotra (Barmer), Jodhpur East, Beawar (Ajmer), Deeg (Bharatpur), Anupgarh (Sriganganagar), Kekri (Ajmer), Dudu (Jaipur), Kotputli-Behror (Jaipur), Jaipur-North, Khairthal (Alwar), Phalodi (Jodhpur), Salumbar (Udaipur), Sanchore (Jalore), Didwana-Kuchamancity (Nagaur) and Shahpura (Bhilwara) has been made a new district.

Moreover, now Pali, Sikar, and Banswara are the new divisions. Additionally, a budget provision of Rs 2,000 crore has also been provided to fulfil the demands of these new districts.

The justification for creating additional districts

According to Gehlot, Rajasthan is the country’s biggest state geographically, with numerous districts that are more than 100 kilometres apart from the state headquarters. As a result, ordinary people confront hardships. Furthermore, because of the tremendous population density of many regions, it is impossible for the authorities to contact every home.

He said that supervision and management over administration and law and order are simple because the district is comparatively small. Some states in the country have created new districts ahead of us. The number of districts has more than quadrupled or tripled. West Bengal, a smaller state geographically than us, has lately announced the creation of seven new districts.

This is considered Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s brilliant move in an election year. There has been a desire for new districts for several years, which Chief Minister Gehlot delivered on March 17 in response to the budget dispute. The simultaneous introduction of 19 new districts is regarded as a significant milestone.
