The dream to own a house got a little closer to reality. In 2018, Delhi Development Authority’s will be building more than 20,000 flats in premier colonies of Delhi such as Vasant Kunj, Jasola, Dwarka, Narela and Rohini. The flats, which will be launched under 2018 housing scheme, will be sold across the categories of HIG, MIG, LIG, and EWS. The housing scheme would be launched in June 2018.

Location of number of flats

Of the 20,987 flats that will be constructed by DDA, around 488 will be in the category of three-bedroom Higher Income Group flats. 579 flats would be in the Middle Income Group and 16,292 in the Low Income Group. 3,624 flats would be in the EWS category.

In terms of distribution of the flats by area, 286 MIG flats, 94 LIG flats and 416 HIG flats would be located in Vasant Kunj on the Mehrauli-Mahipalpur Road. 72 flats will be built close to Sector B, Pocket 2, in Vasant Kunj. 125 LIG flats and 311 MIF flats will be constructed near Sultanpur tomb. DDA will build the largest number of flats in Narela and Rohin. An estimated 16,077 LIG flats and 3,624 Janta flats are to be built in these two colonies.

Amenities

DDA flats find few takes. Thus, in its latest project, DDA would be providing top class amenities to beat their competitors. Apart from their location, the flats would comprise many quality features. Some of these include rainwater harvesting units and multi-level underground parking. The flats would comprise well structured and spacious rooms. The best part of these flats is that their structure would be strong enough to withstand a massive 8.5 magnitude earthquake. The flats are currently under construction and are expected to be completed by March 2018. The 2018 housing scheme will comprise fresh flats unlike the previous scheme most of the flats had been returned by buyers.

2017 housing scheme

In the 2017 housing scheme, the draw of lots will take place at the end of November. Buyers will get possession of their flats by the end of December. In the 2017 scheme, DDA provided 12,000 flats across the four categories. Only 41,000 applications were received for the flats.
