Diljit Dosanjh is all set to become the first Punjabi singer to have his own wax statue at Madame Tussauds in Delhi. He joins the growing list of Indian personalities who are mesmerizing the audience with their wax lookalikes. Having your own statue at Madame Tussauds is akin to being immortal. This trend of honoring Bollywood celebrities started from Amitabh Bachchan, the megastar of Bollywood who got the privilege of being in the midst of other famous celebrities in the year 2000 in London. In the current scenario, the list of Bollywood celebrities who are being in the hall of fame is getting longer. Some already have their wax statues at the various branches of Madame Tussauds around the world, while those of many others are in the pipeline.

Here is a list of Bollywood celebrities who already have their statues or may get one in near future –

Amitabh Bachchan – Delhi, Singapore, New York, Washington DC, and London

Amitabh Bachchan, the angry young man, became the first ever celebrity from Bollywood to get the wax tribute from Madame Tussauds. To be precise, he is the first living Asian celebrity whose statue was found at the coveted museum in London. The star also has his statue in Bangkok, Hong Kong, San Francisco, and many other places.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: London, New York, Washington DC, and Delhi

After the Shehenshah of Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan, it is “the bahu” Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who got her wax doppelgänger in 2004. Aishwarya was the first heroine from Bollywood to find a place in the prestigious museum in London. Later, in 2013 she got another wax statue in New York which is inspired from her look at the Cannes Film Festival, 2010. The former Miss World has her statues at several museums all over the world, the latest one being in Madame Tussauds Museum, Delhi.

Shah Rukh Khan: London, Berlin, Singapore, New York, Washington DC and Delhi

In the year 2007, the Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, got his first doppelgänger at Madame Tussauds in London. Shah Rukh Khan is the third star who got his wax statue in Madame Tussauds. The star has statues at other places too including Singapore, New York, and Delhi.

Salman Khan: London, New York, and Delhi

Salman Khan was immortalised by Madame Tussauds in 2008 in London after being voted as the 7th best looking man in the world by People Magazine, USA. Later, in 2012 another statue of Salman Khan was unveiled in New York at the coveted museum. Often referred to as Bhaijaan of Bollywood, the actor has recently got another statue which gives his fans a chance to pose with Bhai.

Hrithik Roshan: London, New York, Washington DC and Delhi

The replica of Hrithik Roshan was installed in Madame Tussauds London in 2011. Voted as world’s third sexiest man in a poll, Hrithik Roshan is sometimes referred as living Greek God. The actor has an almost real replica at both the places. At Madame Tussauds Museum in London, the statue of Hrithik Roshan can be seen flaunting six pack abs in a pink shirt and blue denims.

Kareena Kapoor Khan: London, Singapore, New York, Washington DC and Delhi

Kareena Kapoor, usually regarded as Bebo, became the second Bollywood actress after Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to get her wax doppelgänger at Madame Tussauds back in 2011. The actress looks drop dead gorgeous in black top and harem which is inspired by her look in the movie “Jab We Met”. Another wax statue of Kareena Kapoor was unveiled in Singapore in 2014 in which she is wrapped in a red saree. The look is inspired from her famous song “Chammak Challo” from the movie Ra. One. The doppelgänger of Kareena which is present at Madame Tussauds, Delhi, appears like an angel from heaven in a white saree.

Madhuri Dixit-Nene: London, Singapore, and Delhi

Frequently regarded as Dhak Dhak girl, Madhuri Dixit had her statue unveiled in London in 2012. The statue of the Dhak Dhak girl is as beautiful as Madhuri. Decorated with perfect jewelry, the lookalike of Madhuri has mesmerizing pink saree wrapped around her which is designed by Varun Bahl and styled by Shaina Nath. At Madame Tussauds in Delhi, the actress looks equally beautiful wrapped in a dark green saree.

Katrina Kaif: London and Delhi

Katrina Kaif made her presence felt at Madame Tussauds London in March 2015. A group of 20 artists worked on her statue and decided a dancing pose and also the outfit. Her look in London is inspired from her famous song “Shila ki Jawani” in London while in Delhi her doppelgänger wears a beautiful white lehenga.

Anil Kapoor: Singapore and Delhi

Anil Kapoor unveiled his wax statue in April 2017 in Singapore. The statue of this “jhakaas” actor appears to be as graceful as him. The pose of the actor is inspired from an iconic moment of his amazing movie “Slumdog Millionaire”. The actor also has his statue in Delhi which got a makeover on his daughter’s (Sonam Kapoor) wedding. Anil describes being waxed as a humbling experience.

Kajol: Singapore

The Bollywood actress Kajol is admired for her various roles in iconic films including Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. She has been immortalised at Madame Tussauds Singapore museum. The actress appears dazzling in a navy blue gown. She visited her wax statue at Madame Tussauds Singapore with her daughter Nyasa.

Varun Dhawan: Hong Kong

Varun Dhawan, one of the most popular actors of this generation, has been known for his versatility and charm. The bubbly actor got his wax replica instilled at Madame Tussauds in Hong Kong. The pose of his statue is inspired from his popular song “Disco Deewane”.

Ranbir Kapoor: Delhi and Singapore

The heart-throbbing Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has his wax statues in Delhi and Singapore. The wax figure of this iconic actor showcases his famous character “Bunny” from the super hit movie “Ye Jawani Hai Diwani”.

Madhubala: Delhi

Late actress Madhubala may have left the world but she has been immortalised by Madame Tussauds, Delhi. Unarguably one of the most beautiful women in the world, Madhubala was well-known for her role of “Anarkali” in the movie Mughal-e -Azam which has been immortalised by Madame Tussauds in Delhi. The aura of Madhubala is going to remain among her fans forever.
