Bollywood Upcoming Movie Laal Kaptaan: Chapter One – The Hunt Trailer Review

The much awaited ‘Laal Kaptaan’ trailer is now out for the world to see. The caption of the trailer released by Eros Now reads “Chapter One – The Hunt” which suggests that the trailer has been split into parts.

By the look of it, Eros Now and Colour Yellow Productions’ ‘Laal Kaptaan’ looks like a period drama set in pre-independence era.

The first chapter starts with Saif Ali Khan presiding over the extracted clip with a groaning voice “aadmi ke paida hote hi, kaal aapne bhainse pe baithke chal padta hain usse wapis liwane” as a metaphor to describe Yamraj, the Hindu god of death. And the way he delivers his dialogue leads to the hint of a regional dialect. The graphic behind this voice evokes terror and wonder together, with ash being thrown about in the dark and a laal tika (red mark on forehead) glaring out of it.

Following the opening scene, Khan is seen dragging a dead man riding on a horseback through a remote village. The rage of a barbarian reflects in his blank but intense stare, which appears to be that of a merciless assassin who is thirsty for blood. Sonakshi Sinha’s voice will also be heard in the background. However, her appearance is yet to be released.

Thick deadlocks falling on the back with ashes splotched on the face, kohl-rimmed eyes, laal tika and hot-blooded attitude insinuates Khan’s character to be that of an antagonist protagonist. Further, critics have compared Saif’s look with Pirates of Caribbean’s Jack Sparrow.

Laal Kaptaan is set to release on October 18, 2019.
