Well, the state which is acclaimed for its luscious tea estates also has another feather in its cap which, not many of us are aware of, is Accoland – the first and biggest water-cum-amusement park in North East India. The park, designed beautifully like a castle, was inaugurated in 2005 and offers a lot of options to keep you busy for the entire day. If you are in Guwahati, even for a short trip, a visit to Accoland won’t be a disappointment.

Besides exciting rides to get your adrenaline going, occasionally, special events like its annual Summer Fest and Techno Tron that is the laser, light and sound show, are also organized with exclusive performances to lure and entertain visitors.

How to Reach Accoland?

Accoland is at an hours drive from the main Guwahati city. You can hire a car or take an auto or a taxi to reach there. Buses are the cheapest way to reach but if you are in a big group you can even rent a chartered bus.

Rides at Accoland:

With around thirty odd options to guarantee unlimited fun and amazing experience for all its visitors, you won’t get bored in Accoland. The experience of most of these rides is as unique as their names. All the rides except for two of them can be enjoyed and taken any number of times. Vortex Maze and Cine Magic are two exclusive rides that fall in the unlimited fun category and you will have to shell out extra money for some extra fun. While Cine Magix is a simulation theatre which boasts of a unique experience, Vortex Maze is a peculiar maze where you enter through a beast’s mouth and make your way via revolving bridge to reach a unique maze of mirrors.

One of its kinds in Guwahati, Accoland is also the largest water park in North East India. ThePirate Ship, a multi platform water play system is a remarkable 16,000 square feet ride in India, and is popular among adults and kids alike. Tornado is the largest water coaster in the country and is definitely not a ride for the feeble spirit. If you want to take a break hit the Dancing Fairy or groove at Disco Deewane; yes, it is the name of a ride at Accoland!

Be game for the 50 feet high Giant Wheel, incomparable Dancing Fairy, for an absolutely thrilling experience. Boomerang is yet another exciting ride at Accoland you would not want to miss! African Pythons, Aqua Thrills, Columbia, Swings Chairs and Multi Lane Racers are other popular rides in the park.

Rides like Caterpillar, Rockin Rola, Baby Train and Mery Go Round with galloping animal shaped carriages are ideal for kids. At a height of nine meters, the Sky Train is a unique family ride where you can savour the views of the colourful park amidst the greens of Assam.

Any trip to an amusement park is incomplete without a bumper car ride. So whether you are much of a driver or not, go get the steering, collide for fun but you will not get hurt because it is quite safe at Accoland!

Please note:

  • The prices are inclusive of the entry fee with unlimited rides except for Cine Magic and Vortex Maze.
  • Children above the height of 4 feet 4 inches will be considered for full ticket.

 

Quick Tips:

  • Swimsuits are not mandatory for this water park. But you can hire costumes inside the park by paying additional charges.
  • Food options are available inside the park and even a bit over priced, but carrying any outside food items is strictly prohibited. So, it would be good if you pack your own stuff, you can have it at a rest house outside Accoland.
  • There are not too many rides for little kids but the place is a good option for young and adults.
  • Avoid the rush by reaching there on time if you want to make the most of it.
  • Stay safe, particularly at the stairs of most water rides as they get slippery.
