The one thing that springs to mind first is that there are fifty states that make up the United States. More than just a change of size, there's a change of spirit from coast to coast. Palm trees dangle in Miami, snow drifts in Anchorage. New York's got a lot of things going on, but Montana's just slow and wide open. Go anywhere in any big city, such as Austin or Salem, and stories emerge from the pavement. Some are bright from the industry, others are like those of the generations. Alaska is vast and wild, so far north that the daylight turns extreme. The Golden State dreams as it does, but also harvests sunlit valleys of Valleyland. America's face can be traced by knowing what each place has in itself.
California
California, the most populous state in the United States, is located in the west. Though its official centre is Sacramento, Los Angeles and San Francisco tower in size. Famous around the world for film magic, tech breakthroughs from Silicon Valley, along with some wild landscapes, it boasts beaches touching the Pacific, old rock walls in Yosemite, and desert expanses in Death Valley. California is behind many of the things that play on screens, power devices, and fill grocery shelves throughout the country. New ideas and people from all over the world here combine to create what will follow. From imagination to invention under wide skies, much like California.
New York
New York is home to the real capital, Albany, but is dominated by its gigantic city, which illuminates every tourist map. This place has earned its nickname not by means of slogans but simply by its presence on the Earth's cultural radar. Finance does indeed beat here, but so do creativity and resourcefulness under subway grates and skyscrapers alike. Monuments appear as old friends: Liberty, hoisting her torch near rushing water at Niagara, while lively ads blare life at a time-honoured square. The pulse of the city flows throughout the country, influencing people's views, attitudes and behaviours. Not just a place, but a force: Drive plus difference equals restlessness.
Texas
Texas is located in the south of the United States, and is second in size and population. Austin is its capital, but the city gets plenty of attention as well as larger urban centres such as Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. Cowboys, spicy mixed cuisine is in their blood. You will find wide-open deserts, thick woodlands, and even sandy shores near the Gulf, all within one place. Tall and proud among the states, history moulded, yet always striding forward on its own path.
Florida
Florida, which is known as the Sunshine State, is located down south in the southern United States. Big-time names like Miami, Orlando and Tampa attract more attention, although Tallahassee is the capital. Sun-kissed beaches are a crowd favourite, as are Disney's vast playgrounds and neighbourhoods designed for a later age. Year after year, a series of visitors comes, and a lot of them stick around. On the map of space efforts, it's rockets launching out nearby from Cape Canaveral. It is a hub, if you will, in terms of trade between countries that passes through the ports. The air is warm, the air is warm here outside and inside the movement, slow and bright, full of next steps.
Alaska
Alaska is the biggest state in the U.S., but the least-populated, located in the far Northwest. Well, Juneau is the capital, although that might not be immediately known to many. The landscape here appears lifeless, with ice-capped mountains and jagged rocks, free-roaming bears, and eagles soaring through the air. The outdoor lifestyle is still very much alive; there are plenty of hikes, fishing, and trekking opportunities. Oil runs under the ground, and gold has attracted hunters for hundreds of years and salmon swim in large schools. Wilderness is the master of all and controls all aspects of life. It's a land of solitude and (some) strength.
Hawaii
In the middle of a great ocean, in the Pacific, is a chain of volcanic islands, known here as Hawaii. It is the heart of this state, which stands proud on the isle of Oahu, Honolulu. The waves draw in the surfers, and the heat from people has one more draw. The beaches are under the sun, and beyond the sun are deep green forests which live quietly. It is a very strong tradition, and it has been transmitted from Polynesia's distant origins. Nature is not static; it lives, breathes and changes as the days move over these lands.
Illinois
It's the "Prairie State" of Illinois, and farmlands are its wide expanse. While Springfield is the capital, Chicago is the largest. Bustling with financial activity, the city is dotted with magnificent structures and thriving art scenes. In the past, the industry took off here and moulded much of America's economic trajectory. Within these borders, power shifted, and behind closed doors, it influenced national decisions. Known for its deep-dish pizzas, Illinois has a sound and rhythm legacy, too. Not just another big guy in the middle of the country, this city has a pulse and is grounded in beliefs.
Massachusetts
The city of Boston is located in the northeast corner of the United States and is the capital of the state of Massachusetts. It is one of the 13 original colonies and has been weighed from the onset. Here is where revolutions were formed literally at the time of the Tea Party. Minds continue to work in the background within labs and lecture halls, such as Harvard and MIT. Just as new ideas are flowing through the cities, so is healthcare. History is on brick sidewalks, and new thinking runs along fibre lines. Past energy fuels (show motion without slowing down).
Arizona
Arizona is a beautiful and dry desert in the U.S. Southwest. It has its headquarters in Phoenix. The Grand Canyon is the result of age and draws visitors from across the globe. This is a place that is very rich in Indigenous history and is a part of life. Many are drawn to settle for good with lengthy spells of sunny weather. Think of a red rock and old traditions, and a large expanse of open spaces under endless blue.
Washington
The Pacific Northwest, where Washington state is located, features mountains that touch the sky and thick forests that cover the land. It's not Olympia that is the seat of government; it's Seattle, the biggest name here. Companies like Amazon have been seeding here, with big tech beginning to make a deep-rooted impact on aspects of daily life. High ridges are blanketed with snow, and digital networks buzz in the city streets below. Nature doesn't need to be invited to flourish in corners of normal life. Evergreen, calm, quiet innovation hums.
