On October 17, just before Diwali, Apple is going to launch their two larger smartphones – iPhone6 and iPhone6 Plus. This launch is just two years after Apple launched their iPhone5. The iPhone6 and iPhone6 Plus sport 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch screens, respectively, with more flatter and sleek designs which will definitely attract the buyers’ attention. More improved cameras, better voice quality, more onboard storage with faster A8 processor will definitely be a point of attraction for the urban buyers who are eagerly waiting for this launch.
Though there is no official announcement from the company’s side about the prices, it is expected that Apple will come up with their official announcement early this week. It is also expected to be similar to the Europe/UK pricing. Looking at the global demand for these two new hi-tech gadgets, stocks are expected to be limited. Devices will be available via Apple Authorised Resellers and their own showrooms. The prices will be revealed by their resellers.
Marketing secret of two smartphones at a time
For the very first time Apple is launching two smartphones at a time which may create confusion among the buyers for which one to choose as they are quite similar. The iPhone6 and iPhone6 Plus have most of the features common. Both of them have bigger screens than previous iPhones with A8 processors and 16, 64 and 128 GB of storage. Both have similar colours: white/gold, white/silver and space gray that is black/darker silver.
Though the differences between these two iPhones are not much but they cannot be ignored also. Their screen sizes are different. The iPhone6 has 4.7 inch screen with 1,344×750 pixel display whereas iPhone6 Plus has 5.5 inch screen with 1,920×1,080 pixel display. The latter one comes with optical image stabilization in the camera and can run more applications in horizontal landscape mode with a special feature of split screen effects like an iPad. The iPhone6 Plus has a longer battery life, bigger in size and heavier than the iPhone6.
Pre-order allowed
As the confirmation comes from Apple that the customers can pre-order their iPhone6 and iPhone6 Plus which will be kicked off on October 7. Customers who pre-order these smartphones will get their handsets delivered on October 16 night. Ten million phones were sold out just within three days after the launch on September 19 in 10 markets and over four million pre-orders within 24 hours of Apple’s announcement on iPhone6 and iPhone6 Plus on September 9. This has marked a new record for the company. By the end of this year these smartphones will be available in 115 countries.
It is expected that with the launch of these two new iPhones, it will continue to draw consumers as Diwali is round the corner and when the buyers are all in the shopping spree. These two new innovative modern gadgets of the Cupertino-based company can give a very good challenge to the other leading smartphone brands.
