Unlimited Taste Inside – Pyaz Ki Kachori

Pyaaz Ki Kachori became my weakness over twenty years back while I was in Jaipur. A foodie “Rajwara” introduced me to  LMB ki Daal Baati Choorma, Lassiwalaa ki Lassi and Rawat ki Pyaaz Kachori. On my every visit I make it a point to have all the three and if it has to be one, it has to be Rawat Ki Pyaaz Kachori. There is something about it, it is so tasty that you know you can’t afford to eat two, but you would still buy three or four.

There were no good places in Delhi for Pyaaz Ki Kachori in those years, the best one got was Daal Ki Kachori at a couple of places. My search for Kachori places even in Chandni Chowk drew a blank, it was not part of “Dilli ki Chaat” hence almost no one made it. There was one small shop in Kamla Nagar where I landed up eating my first few Pyaaz kachoris in Delhi,  they were good, but he was not famous for that. Over a period of time Delhi has changed and options have increased, Pyaaz Kachori has still not made it any closer to “Dilli ki Chaat” items like Dahi Bhalla, Gol Gappe or Aloo Chaat, but it is now available at hundreds of places.

Sure shot places in Delhi for good Pyaaz kachori are  Bikanervala outlets all around the city. The outlet in Chandni Chowk can be rated the best. It is interesting taht the same street which had hardly any kachori outlets has a full blown kachori culture in place now.
