About Tutak Tutak Tutiya

Tutak Tutak Tutiya (TTT), the film that has been shot in three languages including Hindi, Telugu and Tamil, directed by A. L. Vijay and produced by Prabhudeva (the Hindi version having been produced by Sonu Sood), is all set to hit the silver screens today on 7^th October, 2016. It is an Indian horror cum comedy film starring Prabhu Deva, Tamannah and Sonu Sood.

The trailer grabbed the attention of three of the main Indian Film Industries and people were waiting eagerly to watch the movie, more so to see Prabhudeva in his essence. And of course, the music of the film has also made the public eager to see Prabhudeva jive to it.

The Plot

The film is based on the life of the protagonist Krishna. Krishna works in Mumbai in an executive position, and dreams of marrying a modern city girl. However, destiny has other plans for him and due to certain unavoidable circumstances, he gets married to a village girl. Though he brings her along to Mumbai, out of sheer embarrassment, Krishna keeps the information regarding his wedding hidden, and also keeps his wife hidden in the apartment.

The plot takes a twist when he starts noticing his wife behaving strangely after a few days and realises that she has been possessed by the spirit of an aged actress who does not want her popularity to fade away. The spirit starts using the body of Krishna’s wife and is ready to go to any extent to remain popular. The film then proceeds to show how Krishna saves his wife.

The Review

The Director A.L. Vijay’s last Tamil film “Idhu Enna Maayam” did not do very well at the box-office, and he hopes to make a comeback with this film. The cast of Prabhudeva, Tamannah and Sonu Sood will surely be to a great advantage to the movie becoming successful. The genre of a horror-comedy is also sure to attract the public in hoards to the theatre, for we all know that laughter, and biting of nails are two key factors to making a film a hit.

Music

Prabhudeva and foot tapping music surely go hand in hand. And it is no different for the movie Tutak Tutak Tutiya. Music for the film has been composed by Raaj Ashoo and available on T-Series. The title song Tutak Tutak Tutiya, based on the famous Punjabli song is a rendition and remixed several times over. The original song is of course literally non-existent, but the new track is powerful enough to make an impact and get the feet of people tapping to the beats. The other songs also have the Punjabi influence and include:

Rail Gaddi

This song has been performed by the son of the famous Punjabi singer Hans Raj Hans, Navraj Singh. A typical Punjabi track, the only thing that goes against this number are the rap interludes which does not sit very well with it. But the song is surely to make it to the dance parties in India with its fast and foot-tapping beats.
Chal Maar

The only way to describe this song is that it is a genuine “Tapori Song”. It begins with a slow tempo but it keeps building till it gets the listener grooving to the music.
Love the Way You Dance

Another number with the Punjabi influence this is a good party track. Again, the rap interludes in the song do not gel well with it and could have been avoided.
Chalte Chalte & Ranga Re

These are the romantic numbers of the movie. While Arijit Singh has sung Chalte Chalte, Ranga Re has been sung by Shreya Ghoshal. Chalte Chalte is not one of the best works of Arijit. Ranga Re gives a respite from the otherwise loud album of Tutak Tutak Tutiya.
Suku Suku

This song of the film has the western influence and the lyrics get lost in the music and the song’s tempo.

It is time to now wait and watch how the public responds to the movie after they watch the first day first show. After all, it is the public that makes or breaks a movie.
