Air Astana Airlines in India



Air Astana is the airline of Kazakhstan which was founded on 14th September. The Air Astana Airlines Airlines which started its operations on 15th of May 2002, is headquartered in the Air Astana Centre 1 in Almaty.

Its registered office is located in Astana. Air Astana Airlines also serve as the national bearer of Kazakhstan and offers both international and domestic services. The main hub of the airlines happens to be the Astana International Airport and Almaty International Airport.

When Air Kazakhstan was closed in the year 2004 by the Government, Air Astana then became Kazakhstan's national bearer. The airline is a joint venture enterprise having being owned by the Government of Kazakhstan (51%) and BAE Systems (49%). Further, the airline has also entered into a partnership with Lufthansa, thereby expanding its flight services to people.

A total of 21 domestic locations and 23 international locations are covered by Air Astana. These locations are Netherlands, Russia, Turkey, Germany, and U.K in Europe, South Korea and China in East Asia, Azerbaijan and UAE in South West Asia, Thailand in South East Asia and. The locations in Central Asia that are served by the airlines are Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. It also serves India. The airline has also opened routes to Baku, Bishkek, Novosibirsk and kuala-lumpur. Frequency of Air Astana flights have been increased to Bangkok, Istanbul, Frankfurt, and Moscow.

Air Astana does not belong to any alliance of the global airlines but shares code agreements with carriers like Latvia airBaltic (Riga), South Korea Asiana Airlines (Seoul Incheon), Austria Austrian Airlines (Vienna) and Netherlands KLM (Amsterdam).
