Asiana Express serves as one of the major airlines in South Korea and is a Seoul based airline. Its headquarters are located at Asiana Town, Osoe-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul (near Gimpo Airport). The international base for the airline is the Incheon International Airport while the domestic hub is the Gimpo International Airport.

A member of Star Alliance, Asiana Express has 500 daily flights from Europe, North America, Asia, and Oceania. The airline operates in 81 international and 13 domestic routes whereas twenty cargo routes. Thus the airline offers global services to 66 locations in 21 nations, 82 routes. It s domestic services include 12 cities on fifteen routes. China, Japan, Southeast Asia and Central Asia, North America and Europe are covered by the extensive Asiana Express network of flights.


Established on Febrauary 17th, 1988, Asiana commenced functioning in December 1988 with the inauguration of flights to Busan. Originally it was called the "Seoul Air International". Asiana Express is owned by Kumho Industrial (29.51%), Kumho Petrochemical (15.05%), private investors (30.53%), Korea Development Bank (7.18%), foreign investors (11.9%), and others (5.83%).
