The year 1954 saw the formation of another airway namely "Pars Airways". On 24th February, both "Pars Airways" and "Iranian Airways" was merged following the decision of the Government of Iran to form a national airline. With this merger, came up Iran Air, the new airline. In 1961, Iranian government decided to establish a national airline of Iran which started its operations in the month of April 1962.
The various locations covered by the Iran Air flights are Uzbekistan (Central Asia), India (to Mumbai), Pakistan (South Asia), Japan, China and South Korea (East Asia), Kuwait, Lebanon, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Syria and Dubai (Southwest Asia) Thailand, Malaysia (Southeast Asia), Azerbaijan, Denmark, Austria, France, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Russia, Turkey and United Kingdom (Europe).
