Cathay Pacific in India


Cathay Pacific is a Hong Kong based registered international airline offering passenger and cargo services to more than 90 locations all over the globe. Founded on 24th September, 1946 by Roy C Farrell and Australian Sydney H de Kantzow, the airline was originally located in Shanghai.

In the initial years, Cathay Pacific flights plied between Sydney, Manila, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, and Canton. The scheduled flights were confined to Manila, Bangkok and Singapore. The Cathay Pacific Airlines commenced its operations under the management of Butterfield & Swire on 1st July 1948 after the company bought a share of 45% of the airline.

With time, Cathay pacific Airlines have expanded their business with different flights plying in various routes. Further, it has also increased the frequency of its flights to several locations which include Paris and Shanghai.

Cathay Pacific flights serve about 46 locations throughout the world. Its Cargo service expands to 58 locations. Both the Cargo and the passenger aircrafts ply in different destinations of Europe, Africa, Asia, North America, Oceania and India.
