Jamshedpur XLRI was brainchild of the Jesuit priest, Father Quinn Enright. The National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur was established in the year 1960 as a joint venture of the state and the union government of India. The institute started with four departments and has grown to provide post graduate and undergraduate degree courses in 12 disciplines.
