Education in Kottayam

Being a part of Kerala, which boasts of 100% literacy rate, Kottayam proves to be a major contributer towards the literacy rate in Kerala, with a literacy rate of 95.82% . Education in Kottayam dates back to the year when the Malankara Orthodox Church was established, which was the first institution to start English education in the southern part of India.
