Public Transportation in Gurgaon


Public transport in Gurgaon is a bit dreadful due to the lack of proper public transport facilities. Gurgaon has some intercity mini-buses which travel from the Gurgaon Bus Stand via the Mall region towards the MG (Mehrauli-Gurgaon) road. These buses cost around Rs.20 per person.

Shared autos are also a good way to travel in Gurgaon. These autos charge about Rs.10 usually have fixed routes and destinations. Recently a Tele Auto service was started in Gurgaon where one could call and book an auto it would pick you up from your doorstep. These autos would charge around Rs.10 per km.

Cycle Rickshaws are another means of transport in Gurgaon. They have their own mood and would charge anywhere from Rs.20 to 30 per person for a distance of 1 to 2 km. So if the distance is short and you don't feel like walking, cycle rickshaws are great.

Delhi Metro services started between Gurgaon and Delhi. Metro is comfortable and has value for money. It is the best mode if one wants to move around Huda City Center or Iffco chowk. A private Gurgaon Metro Rail Link is also under construction which will connect Delhi Metro's Sikanderpur Metro Station to NH-8 on a 6 km elevated link

Booking a taxi online or calling a radio cab is the best option for getting around in Gurgaon. One can choose from a variety of options like cabgurgaon, easycabs, cabs24, gcabs, mangocabs, etc.

DTC and Haryana Roadways operate daily buses which travel on National Highway 8 in Delhi. Regular Buses from Delhi to Gurgaon can be boarded at Dhaula Kuan. There is also a small dedicated bus terminal at Karol Bagh which runs regular buses to Gurgaon. Haryana Roadways and Private operators also run regular buses from Sarai Kale Khan to Gurgaon Bus Stand daily.
