Dena Bank, India


Dena Bank was founded in 1938 in Mumbai and is one of India's earliest banks. The bank was founded by the Devkaran Najee family under the name Devkaran Nanjee Banking Company Ltd. In December 1939 it took on its new name Dena Bank Ltd when it was incorporated as a Public Company. Dena Bank was nationalised in 1969 and dropped the "Ltd" in its name.

Dena Bank launched core banking facility in March 2007 in its Mahim Branch in Mumbai. Among the few banks to receive the World Bank Loan for technological upgradation and training.
