United Bank of India Delhi


United Bank of India, also known as UBI, is one of the pre-eminent banking and financial services institutions in India. It principally serves the eastern part of the country. The bank has its head office in Kolkata. Shri Bhaskar Sen is the present Chairman and Managing Director of UBI. The Automated Teller Machines of UBI have CashTree arrangement with 11 other banks.

In India, United Bank functions as a government-owned public sector bank. It was established in 1950. It was created by a merger of four Bengal based banks: Comilla Union Bank, Bengal Central Bank, Hooghly Bank, and Comilla Banking Corporation.

In 1969, United Bank of India was nationalized, accompanied by 13 other major commercial banking institutions in the country by the Union Government. At the time of nationalization, the bank only had 174 branches. At present, it has over 1600 offices and branches, comprising 31 regional offices and the head office. All the branches of the bank are equipped with Core Banking Services (CBS).
