Transport in Mathura
As Mathura is a major tourist spot,large number of tourists flock to the city throughout the year. Hence the need of local transport is understood. Transportation from the railway station is also very convenient. The travelers do not have to go very far away from the station as there are ample auto rickshaws,taxis,buses and cars available.
Transport services in Mathura is cheap and bargaining is also accepted. However some of the fares to the local tourist places are fixed. Most of the transportation rates are fixed for half or full day but some times it is also fixed on mileage. The cars available for rent in Mathura are chauffer driven as self driven cars are not available here.
The large tourist groups can avail the bus transport services of Mathura ,which is excellent. The Old Bus Stand is close to the Holi gate in Mathura and links it with Agra and Govardhan. Buses for New Delhi and Jaipur depart from the New Bus Stand.
