The bars in Diu stand as iconic representations of the influence of metropolitan life in the small island. They are a rage among the Gujarati travelers who stop at the local alehouse to quench their thirst with the local cocktail or foreign whiskey and scotch. The inhabitants of Gujarat travel to Diu during the weekends to escape the prohibitory alcohol laws in the state.
