Gwalior shopping experience is one of the main attractions of this city of Madhya Pradesh . The tourists who visit this historical place from the other parts of India shop a variety of shopping items from the city.

The shopping areas of Gwalior that are situated close to Laskar and Rajwara have a wide range of traditional handicrafts of Gwalior. The Patankar Bazaar is particularly well known for having a very good collection of age-old Gwalior shopping items like lacquer ware, dolls and ornaments. Some other important Gwalior items of shopping of this market are beautifully painted wall hangings and handmade carpets. In fact, different craft items from the rest of the state of Madhya Pradesh can also be bought from this market.

The lanes that are located close to the Chowk in Bara house some of the oldest shops of the state. One of the most popular shopping items of Madhya Pradesh called Chanderi sari is available for sale at this place. Other than Chanderi sari, one can also buy a variety of other traditional fabric materials from this place.

There are a number of emporiums in the city, which are looked after by the Gwalior state government. These emporiums have a great collection of art and craft items of different regions of Madhya Pradesh. The wide range of shopping items that are kept in these emporiums include dokra statuettes, handwoven saris, ethnic ornaments and a variety of fabric materials.

On a vacation or business tour to Gwalior, one should not forget to shop a couple of traditional Gwalior handicrafts and other shopping items that are available at the place.
