Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education





Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education of Gwalior offers under graduate and post graduate courses in the field of physical education. One of the premier educational institutions, Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education has helped in the development of Gwalior sports.

The government of India in the year of 1957 founded the National College of Physical Education in Gwalior for imparting proper training to the interested students in the field of sports. The educational institution of Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education derived its name from the fearless freedom fighter, Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi.

Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education started its first under graduate batch in the year of 1957. In 1963, the institution started offering post graduate courses in the field of sports. The Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education provides the interested students with a comprehensive and detailed curriculum that helps in further enhancement of sporting knowledge.

A unique educational institution of its kind, Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education provides degree in Master of Philosophy (Physical Education) for one year. The institute has been awarded with the status of a deemed university in the year of 1995 by the Department of Ministry of Culture, Youth Affairs and Sports under the Government of India.

The institute also offers the interested candidates with an opportunity to pursue their research work in the field of sports. Apart from regular courses, Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education offers several certificate courses on Physical Fitness, Adventure Sports, Yoga and Alternative Therapy.
