Languages of Indore



The languages of Indore are a hallmark of the cosmopolitan culture and the demography of the Madhya Pradesh city. Many individuals have relocated here for employment and higher education as it has developed into a hub of trade, commerce, and learning. In recent years, it has developed into a centre for education.

The official language of Indore is Hindi. A number of Hindi dialects, including Bundeli and Malawi, are spoken by the locals. Since the city is a focus for education, English is also widely spoken there. Besides English, Urdu, Marathi, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, Rajasthani, Punjabi, and Sindhi are also spoken in Indore.
