Reaching Kovalam

Kovalam, the beautiful beach town in the Indian state of Kerala, is located very close to the city of Tiruvananthapuram. Though Kovalam does not have any airport and railway station of its own but reaching Kovalam is not troublesome at all.

The nearest airport to Kovalam is the one situated in Tiruvananthapuram. The closest rail head to Kovalam beach is also located in this South Indian city. This beach resort is well connected to the Tiruvananthapuram International Airport and the Central Railway Station of Trivandrum by road.

Kovalam is connected to all the major cities of India by the Tiruvananthapuram rail junction. There are regular trains to various important rail heads of India.

You can also reach Kovalam by air. Indian Airlines flights connect the Tiruvananthapuram airport to New Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai. There are also domestic flights operated by the Jet Airways from Tiruvananthapuram.

There are regular road transport services that connect Kovalam to Trivandrum and other cities of Kerala. The distance between Kovalam and Tiruvananthapuram is about fifteen kilometers. The road connecting the beach to the capital city of Kerala is famous among the travelers for its scenic beauty.

Regular buses ply from Tiruvananthapuram to Kovalam. There are buses of different categories maintained by the tourism department to suit the tastes and budgets of tourists from different backgrounds. There are luxurious coaches as well as general buses plying between these two places.
