The city has no major highway passing through but it has motorable roads connecting it to Vapi city (in Gujarat) which is on the route of the national highway no 8 connecting it to Delhi and Mumbai. Silvassa has no rail line or airport .The nearest rail link is also at Vapi, which is 18 kilometers away.

Important Landmarks in The City
Silvassa was a former Portuguese Colony and traces of the Portuguese influence can be found in the old buildings in the city. The Police Headquarters and the Circuit House are in the center of the city. The Fire Station and the Secretariat are in the north of the city.
