The nearest airport to Kappad Beach is the Karipur International Airport, about 23km from Kozhikode town and the nearest rail junction isKozhikode about 16 km from Kappad. However most tourists prefer the water route down the picturesque backwaters of Kozhikode on Korappuzha river which leads to the beach.
The main attraction of the Kappad beach is a huge sprawling rock outcrop that seems to cut through the sea in an attempt to part it. An ancient 800 year old temple located on the nearby cliffs is visited by locals and tourists alike.
