The Government College of Technology or GCT Coimbatore is a co-education institute founded in the year 1945. It was founded with the help of Late Shri G.D Naidu, an important personality in the field of engineering in India. The college has received a recognition from Department of Scientific and Industrial Research.

Government College of Technology from the moment of its establishment has stood as one of the best college of technology in India. The lush green college campus of GCT is situated in the Thadagam Road.
