The true replication of Jalandhar culture is found in the fairs and festivals celebrated by the people of the city. The fairs and festivals of the city of Jaladhar are an amalgamation of the art and culture of the city. A study of the social system in the city reveals the richness of the culture of Jalandhar.

The Baisakhi is one of the most important festivals celebrated by the people of Jalandhar. The festival commemorates the founding of the Khalsa by the Sikh Guru Gobind Singh.

The culture of the city is well exhibited in the Fair of Baba Sodal and the Harballabh Sangeet Sammelan. The annual fair of Hariballabh Sangeet Mela is organized near the Devi Talab and is an excellent podium that displays the musical heritage of the city of Jalandhar. The fair is organized in the memory of the saint, Swami Hariballabh, who was a great patron of music. A musical soiree is organized to celebrate the birth anniversary of the saint.

The Fair of Baba Sodal is organized on the 14th of Shukal Paksh which falls in the month of September. The celebrations last for a day and is organized to commemorate the death anniversary of the child deity, Sodal. Pilgrims arrive from the neighboring states to seek the blessings of the deity on the half day of the lunar month.

The cuisine of the city comprise of the authentic food of the Punjab. A plethora of the delectable dishes is served in the restaurants of Jalandhar.
