Divided into six zones: North Zone, South Zone, East Zone, West Zone, Central Zone and North East Zone, India has 29 states and 7 Union Territories. It is the seventh largest country in the world and also ranks second in population. Most popular metropolitan cities in India are Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore.

India is a land of hills, rivers, plateaus, plains, beaches, deltas and deserts. Most of the India's northern and north eastern states are situated in the Himalayan Mountain Range. The central and eastern India consists of the Indo-Gangetic plain. The West comprises of Thar Desert. The southern Indian Peninsula is almost entirely composed of the Deccan plateau, which has two hilly coastal ranges, the Western Ghats and Eastern Ghats. With its diverse culture, India has a lot to offer to tourists. To cater to its ever booming travel and tourism industry it has many state of the art hotels and resorts.Indian economy is also flourishing because of its Information Technology, Bio Technology, Pharmaceuticals, Business Management, Travel and Tourism, Financial Consultancy, Real Estate, Consultancies, Educational Institutes, and Construction sector.
