Introduction: International Yoga Festival 2018

The International Yoga Festival was started in the year 1999 and has gained immense popularity. Various spiritual leaders, Master Yoga Teachers, Evolutionary Thought Leaders, and Wellness Specialists from around the world will gather and enlighten people about the benefits of Yoga. This festival gives a chance to people to detoxify their bodies and purify mind and soul by showing a path towards enlightenment and discovery through Yoga. It provides an opportunity to the people to introduce Yoga in one’s life and explore the eight limbs of Yoga and their applications to our lives.

The festival will begin on March 1, 2018, and will continue for 7 days till March 7, 2018.

Where is International Yoga Festival Celebrated?

The event will be held at Parmarth Niketan Ashram, which is the largest ashram in Rishikesh and is situated on the banks of river Ganga.

How is the festival celebrated?

The festival is well planned and seeks to promote harmony of mind, body, and soul. There are daily sessions on Pranayama, Hatha Yoga and Yog Nidra. Numerous meditative sessions of Agnihotra, Ajapa Japa, Antar Mauna, Chakra Sudhi, Chidakasha Dharma are carried out by experienced yoga practitioners inside the ashram complex. The classes start from 4 AM followed by a one-hour yoga class at 6.30 AM, further followed by a simple breakfast. Then yoga sessions are conducted. Lectures are also held after the sessions. Special programs like Satsang, cultural song, and dance performances, campfires are also arranged in the evening post lunch. The major attraction of the evening is the ‘Ganga Aarti’ which is performed on the banks of the river Ganga.

There are various places to stay in Rishikesh. You can stay in magnificent hotels in Rishikesh which provide great service to its visitor. There are also various lodges, dharamashalas, and ashrams that provide shelter at convenient rates with good facilities.

How to reach?

By Train: The nearest railway station is Haridwar Railway Station which is 25 km away from the city and has good connectivity.

By Road: The town is well-connected to various important cities. It takes around 6-7 hours from Delhi, the country capital to reach Rishikesh.

By Air: One can reach the spiritual land of Rishikesh through Jolly Grant Airport, which is located in Dehradun and is around 35 km away from this town.

By attending this festival one can get a chance to unite oneself with the divine and also connect with numerous other followers participating from all across the world. As there will be a number of spiritual leaders from around the world, a person will be able to imbibe knowledge in depth.
