Pathaan is a heavily hyped action movie film featuring Shah Rukh Khan. Siddharth Anand’s film also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in essential roles. Additionally, Pathaan is sponsored by Yash Raj Films, one of India’s most prominent production companies.

Plot

The narrative covers India’s withdrawal of article 370 (special status of J&K) and its repercussions on a Pakistani official who wants India to pay for this ‘judgment’. He approaches Jim, an ex-RAW agent who has been mistreated by his people and is assisted by his stunning partner Rubai, an ex-ISI operative with ambiguous goals. Pathaan, Rubai (Deepika Padukone), and Jim (John Abraham) clash as they span nations in a deadly game of betrayal and revenge. The trio struggles to destroy and save their respective countries.

The film opens with the introduction of Pathaan(Shahrukh Khan), a RAW agent on an assignment to infiltrate and dismantle a terrorist cell. Pathaan goes undercover to get closer to the terrorist group’s head, played by John Abraham. The movie also has a romantic subplot involving Pathaan and an ISI agent portrayed by Deepika Padukone.

Spectacular Action

One of the film’s biggest highlights is the action sequences, which are choreographed by an international action director, Casey O’Neill. The action scenes are thrilling and intense, and Shah Rukh Khan’s portrayal of a RAW agent is convincing. The fight scenes are well-executed and provide an adrenaline rush to the audience.

Direction

Siddharth Anand portrays it almost like a superhero movie, requiring a giant leap of faith. His obsession with and fanboy devotion to major Hollywood blockbusters, such as Marvel or Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible series, is apparent here. Expect a Falcon-style wingsuit, overblown action, pursuit scenes, fatality and gravity-defying actions on cars, bikes, ice, and aeroplanes, invincible heroes and villains yapping concise speech, and all of this infused with patriotism.

Individual Performances

The performances of the lead actors are noteworthy. Shah Rukh Khan as Pathaan delivers a powerful performance and his chemistry with Deepika Padukone is electric. John Abraham, as the criminal terrorist leader, is also impressive, and his scenes with Shah Rukh Khan are some of the most intense in the film. Deepika Padukone, as the ISI agent, is also convincing in her role, and her scenes with Shah Rukh Khan are emotional and heartwarming.

The climax of the Pathaan movie

The film’s pacing is also noteworthy. The story moves briskly, keeping the audience engaged throughout the film. Its climax is also intense and keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. The film’s background score and sound design also add to the overall tension and thrill of the film.

One of the criticisms of the film is that it is predictable, with certain plot twists and reveals being easy to see coming. Also, the film is too long, and some scenes could have been trimmed. However, these criticisms are minor and do not take away from the film’s overall enjoyment.

Final Thoughts

Pathaan is a must-watch for action and SRK fans. It is a treat for them, and is expected to do super well at the box office. Overall, it is a well-made, engaging film that is worth watching.
